Ways to Participate in QCAC 2025!

Cosplay Craftsmanship Competition

We are thrilled to be continuing the Craftsmanship Contest this year at Queen City Anime Con!  We are so excited to see what you have been creating!  You will get to show off all your skills to our Judges and share it with our attendees on stage!

We will have limited slots for the Contest and for Exhibition (You would just like to show off your costume but do not want to complete in craftsmanship).

Contest Categories

Youth -  Participants in the youth category are up to 12 years of age.  Parents will be able to walk on stage with their child, and we ask that you be backstage to supervise your child.

Novice -  To be at Novice Level, you will have only won up to 2 awards in craftsmanship competitions.  You must have hand made/self produced or created at least 50% of your cosplay yourself.

Journeyman -  To be at Journeyman Level, you will have anywhere from 2-6 major awards in craftsmanship competitions.  You must have hand made/self produced or created at least 60% of your cosplay yourself.

Master -  To be at Master Level, you will have anywhere from 6 or more major awards in craftsmanship competitions.  You must have hand made/self produced or created at least 70% of your cosplay yourself.

Judging

Costumes will be judged on accuracy, quality/construction and creativity.  Remember, judges want to see what you have produced yourself and will only be judging on your skills.  Please bring a reference photo for the judges, either printed or on your phone.  Progress photos are always welcomed and recommended.  Cosplays entered into the contest should not have won any other major awards elsewhere.
